Walking alone in the rain
I will the world to make me cry
No more do I know the pain
And my eyes remain forever dry
I've had my share and more sorrow
I've lost myself to a stained past
I looked forth for a new tomorrow
And well I know it's not my last
A fair one does pass me by
One hand I see He does hold
Yet one beckons I don't know why
One bare hand in the freezing cold
Ever slow I walk by her side
Her eyes beg me to hold her arm
The fear in them makes me abide
I hold her close and free from harm
She knew not who the other arm held
She feared His smile if it held deceit
For in her mind her kin were felled
And alone she felt on her tired feet
I read her mind and saw her fear
I knew she's safe but I didn't let go
I craved her more than she needs me near
For then I knew...
