The Ice Princess

Ice Princess

She froze my thoughts in one cold stare
My eyes to move I did not dare

The fire I wielded died away
And never once did her cold heart sway

Never before did I demand
The forces thence at my command

Merge and let my armour shine
The prize ahead I sought be mine

My jewelled crest was worthless proved
For little was the cold heart moved

Flame by flame I kindled slow
But none could bear her cold winds blow

My arms I laid in failed conquest
Surrendered I to her behest

I moved far and stayed away
My tired mind called it a day

Proclaimed I in all glory
The lost war - the whole story

All my pain and tears no less
Made her thence the Ice Princess

I sought no more the forbidden gold
And never again did I feel the cold

To a whole new warmth I bore witness
The radiance of my new princess

I kept my arms but gave my heart
Shone my armour for my whole new part

The Fire Princess she lit my flame
And the living world was then never the same

The burning ice never caught my eye
But the cold heart did flow gently by

Lost or won, I owned that game
For the moment hence my heart became

The empire of my Fire Princess
And thus melted away the Ice Princess
